Sorry I haven’t posted in a while… I’ve been out of town, visiting children and grandchildren in Denver. But I’m back in the saddle today with some tidbits of information for creative nonfiction writers, and for those registered for the workshop next month.
If you’re not already subscribed to Writers Digest Magazine, I highly recommend it. The October issue is packed full of good stuff, like “Nonfiction Book Proposal Secrets,” (which Neil White will be teaching on during the workshop), “Mistakes to Avoid in Your Submission,” and “What Agents Really Do.”
Writers Digest online always has lots of helpful information, like this link:

News and reminders for our workshoppers:
1. Manuscript Submissions are due September 2.
2. A complimentary Bar-B-Q dinner has been added to the schedule for Saturday night, catered by award-winning Central BBQ. (Note time changes for Bob Cowser’s workshop, dinner, and Kristen Iversen’s craft talk that night.)
3. If you have a preference for which Faculty Member critiques your manuscript (Bob Cowser or Kristen Iversen) please email that request to me. Otherwise, I’ll assign your manuscript to one of these (outstanding) workshop leaders.
We’ve had two folks drop out due to illness and family emergencies, so the first two folks on the waiting list are now registered for the workshop. I’ve got one more person on the list, but registrations will be closed on September 2.
Can’t wait to read everyone’s writing samples (did I mention they are due one week from today? September 2?) and enjoy a terrific weekend together… one month from today!
